The five clues

Every guess is compared against the mystery pair across five attributes. Green means you matched that attribute, grey means you missed it.

ClueWhat it tells you
BrandMatch or no match against the mystery pair's brand.
SilhouetteLow-top or high-top — match or no match.
Categorye.g. Basketball, Running, Lifestyle, Skate, Football — match or no match.
EraMatch, or an arrow pointing to an earlier (↓) or later (↑) decade.
Price TierMatch, or an arrow pointing to a cheaper (↓) or pricier (↑) tier ($ / $$ / $$$).

The reveal ladder

Tips for a strong first guess

Since Brand, Silhouette and Category are simple matches, your first guess is most useful for narrowing Era and Price direction. Guessing something you know well from a well-documented era gives you the most reliable signal, even if the brand itself is wrong.

Streaks, stats and Past Drops

Solving today's puzzle extends your streak; missing resets it. Your stats (played, win rate, current and best streak, guess distribution) are tracked separately for Sneakers and Football Boots mode. The Past Drops archive lets you replay any earlier day's puzzle without touching your real streak — handy if you're new and want more than one puzzle to try.

Frequently asked questions

What's a good first guess in Kickdle?

Pick something you know well and that sits toward the middle of the era/price range, like a well-known mid-2000s to mid-2010s model. That first guess's clues narrow down era and price direction fast, even if the brand misses.

What do the up and down arrows mean?

On the Era and Price clues, an up arrow means the correct answer is from a later era or higher price tier than your guess; a down arrow means earlier or lower. There is no arrow when that attribute already matches.

How does the colourway hint work?

After your first wrong guess, three colour dots appear showing the mystery pair's actual colourway, even though its name is still hidden.

Why do some letters appear before others?

The order letters reveal in is fixed for that day's puzzle and the same for every player, so comparing partially-revealed results with a friend is meaningful rather than random.
